Am I a Spanish tax resident?

Three quick questions against Spain's residency tests. Meeting any one of them usually makes you a tax resident.

When did you arrive (or will you arrive) in Spain this year?

That's about 214 days in Spain this year (counting through 31 December).

Likely a Spanish tax resident

You meet at least one of Spain's residency tests — meeting any one is enough:

  • You'd be in Spain more than 183 days this year (about 214).

As a resident, Spain taxes your worldwide income. A double-tax treaty may change where you actually pay — that's worth checking.

Estimate only, not tax or legal advice. Spain's residency rests on three tests (LIRPF art. 9): 183+ days in the calendar year, your centre of economic interests, and a family presumption. Tax-treaty tie-breakers can override the result.
